The Producers is a musical comedy, with music and lyrics by Mel Brook. It is adapted from the film of the same name. When has-been Broadway producer (Max Bialystock) meets anxious accountant (Leo Bloom), they scheme to get rich by fraudulently overselling interests in a Broadway musical designed to fail. Hilarity ensues when the show is a surprise hit.
